Speaker water cleaner
Got your phone wet and the sound is muffled? This plays a low buzzing tone that shakes water drops out of the speaker.
- Turn the volume all the way up and take the phone out of silent mode.
- Hold the phone with the speaker facing down.
- Press start. Repeat 2 or 3 times if needed.
This helps with water drops only. If the phone was in water for long, turn it off and let it dry fully before charging.
Common questions
- Does a water eject sound really work?
- It helps with drops stuck in the speaker grille, which cause most muffled sound after a splash. It cannot fix water inside the phone. If the phone was under water for long, switch it off and get it checked.
- How long should I play it?
- 30 seconds, two or three times, with the speaker facing down. Then let the phone dry in open air for an hour.
- Should I put my phone in rice?
- No. Rice does not dry it faster and its dust can get into the ports. Open air, a fan, or a sealed box with silica gel packets works better.
- Is it safe for my speaker?
- Yes. The tone is low and plays in short pulses. Stop if you hear rattling that gets worse.
