How we score and rank phones
Every phone on Tuvvo gets three scores out of 10, for camera, battery and speed. Guides, comparisons and the quiz are worked out from those scores and the phone's price, using the rules below. No brand pays to be listed or ranked.

The three scores
- How they're set: we read the published reviews and lab tests listed on each phone's page, then score the phone against the other 66 phones on Tuvvo. 10 means among the very best here, 5 is average, 3 or less is weak.
- Camera: photo and video quality in daylight, at night and with zoom, from reviewers' sample shots and camera tests.
- Battery: tested battery life, not just the battery size. A phone with a smaller battery can score higher if it uses less power (iPhones often do).
- Speed: how fast the chip is in benchmarks and real use, and whether it stays fast in long games without overheating.
- Overall rating: our judgement of the whole phone out of 10: the three scores plus screen, build, software support and price.
Buying guides
- Best phones: ranked by overall rating.
- Camera, battery and gaming guides: only phones scoring 7 or more on that score, ranked by that score first and the overall rating second.
- Budgets: a phone is "under ₹20,000" when its current Indian price for the base model is ₹20,000 or less. A budget guide only exists when it has at least 5 phones and adds at least 2 phones over the cheaper guide, so you don't read the same list twice.
Comparisons and the quiz
- Comparison winners: the phone with the higher score wins camera, battery and speed. Equal scores are a tie. Updates go to the longest promise, price to the cheapest. We only suggest comparing phones within 1.5 times each other's price.
- Quiz match: the phone finder quiz weighs the scores by what you said matters most, then checks your budget, size and must-haves. If nothing fits, it says what it had to relax.
Prices and freshness
- We show the current price of the base model in your country, from the maker or a typical store price. Each change is saved with its date, which is what the price history shows.
- Launches, prices and software versions are checked every day, and every Indian price is re-checked each Monday. Store prices change often, so check the store before you buy.
- Store links may earn us a small commission when you buy. It costs you nothing extra and never changes a score or a ranking.
